Steps of dividing/ splitting plants

1. Follow health and safety protocols.

2. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure equipment is clean.

3. Use a spade or pitchfork to carefully dig up the plant.

4. Gently lift the plant out of the ground, being cautious not to damage the roots.

5. Shake off excess soil and remove any dead growth.

6. Separate the plant into smaller divisions by gently pulling or teasing the roots apart.

7. Mix compost with perlite in a 3:1 ratio.

8. Fill pots with the compost mixture.

9. Place each divided plant into a pot and cover with compost.

10. Water the plants gently to settle the soil.

11. Transfer the plants indoors for further care.
